시편 104:24-35
- 여호와여 주께서 하신 일이 어찌 그리 많은지요 주께서 지혜로 그들을 다 지으셨으니 주께서 지으신 것들이 땅에 가득하니이다
- 거기에는 크고 넓은 바다가 있고 그 속에는 생물 곧 크고 작은 동물들이 무수하니이다
- 그 곳에는 배들이 다니며 주께서 지으신 리워야단이 그 속에서 노나이다
- 이것들은 다 주께서 때를 따라 먹을 것을 주시기를 바라나이다
- 주께서 주신즉 그들이 받으며 주께서 손을 펴신즉 그들이 좋은 것으로 만족하다가
- 주께서 낯을 숨기신즉 그들이 떨고 주께서 그들의 호흡을 거두신즉 그들은 죽어 먼지로 돌아가나이다
- 주의 영을 보내어 그들을 창조하사 지면을 새롭게 하시나이다
- 여호와의 영광이 영원히 계속할지며 여호와는 자신께서 행하시는 일들로 말미암아 즐거워하시리로다
- 그가 땅을 보신즉 땅이 진동하며 산들을 만지신즉 연기가 나는도다
- 내가 평생토록 여호와께 노래하며 내가 살아 있는 동안 내 하나님을 찬양하리로다
- 나의 기도를 기쁘게 여기시기를 바라나니 나는 여호와로 말미암아 즐거워하리로다
- 죄인들을 땅에서 소멸하시며 악인들을 다시 있지 못하게 하시리로다 내 영혼아 여호와를 송축하라 할렐루야

- 기뻐하며 경배하세 영광의 주 하나님 주 앞에서 우리 마음 피어나는 꽃 같아 죄와 슬픔 사라지고 의심 구름 걷히니 변함 없는 기쁨의 주 밝은 빛을 주시네
- 땅과 하늘 만물들이 주의 솜씨 빛내고 별과 천사 노랫 소리 끊임 없이 드높아 물과 숲과 산과 골짝 들판이나 바다나 모든 만물 주의 사랑 기뻐 찬양 하여라
- 우리 주는 사랑이요 복의 근원이시니 삶이 기쁜 샘이 되어 바다처럼 넘치네 아버지의 사랑 안에 우리 모두 형제니 서로 서로 사랑하게 도와 주시옵소서
- 새벽 별의 노래 따라 힘찬 찬송 부르니 주의 사랑 줄이 되어 한맘 되게 하시네 노래하며 행진하여 싸움에서 이기고 승전가를 높이 불러 주께 영광 돌리세 아멘

GOD MADE THEM ALL

How many are your works, Lord! In wisdom you made them all. [ PSALM 104:24 ]
My three-year old son, Xavier, squeezed my hand as we entered the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California. Pointing to a life-size sculpture of a humpback whale suspended from the ceiling, he said, “Enormous!” His wide-eyed joy continued as we explored each exhibit. We laughed as the otters splish-splashed during feeding time. We stood in silence in front of a large glass aquarium window, mesmerized by the golden-brown jellyfish dancing in the electric blue water. “God made every creature in the ocean,” I said, “just like He made you and me.” Xavier whispered, “Wow.”
In Psalm 104, the psalmist acknowledged God’s abounding creation and sang, “In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures” (V. 24). He declared, “There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number-living things both large and small” (V. 25). He proclaimed God’s generous and satisfying provision for all He created (VV. 27-28). He also affirmed that God has determined the days of each one’s existence (VV. 29-30).
We can join the psalmist in singing this declaration of devotion: “I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live” (V. 33). Every creature that exists, from the big to the small, can lead us to praise because God made them all. XOCHITL DIXON
